Sa Coma And Cala Millor
The resort of Sa Coma was purpose built in the centre of Majorca's east coastal region, between the resorts of S'Illot and the lively resort of Cala Millor. The beaches of Sa Coma are ideal for families with clear blue waters and wide sand beaches, which have a 'Blue Flag' status for safety and quality. The resort has a British flavour due to predominantly being visited by British families and the large promenade of bars, shops and restaurants, which are mostly British owned on the beachfront. A tourist tram connects Sa Coma with Cala Millor and S'Illot, expanding the choice of amenities and beaches and there is a safari park situated in Cala Millor, offering the chance to see gazelles, apes, ostriches and elephants across a natural landscape, from the safari bus.
Self catering holidays in Sa Coma are an easy option with a hypermarket situated on the Avinguda de les Palmeres, containing a wide range of well known produce. In addition neighbouring resorts offer a variety of shops, including boutiques, souvenir shops, and tourist stores selling everything from swim wear to sun tan lotion. Visitors can also visit a local market in Son Servera, which is only a short journey away and offers more traditional Majorcan products.
The restaurants in Sa Coma and the surrounding area offer an excellent range of delicious cuisine from a variety of regions. Across the footbridge to S'Illot you can try some traditional British dishes from Jay Jays or a mixture of Spanish and British food at the BiBaBo café and music bar. The best of Mallorquin and Spanish cuisine comes from the sophisticated Lago restaurant, which is in the same area as the Mallorquin restaurant Es Cuerot and a variety of lively tapas bars. The resort is predominantly family orientated, so the nightlife does not cater to the wild clubbing crowd and the entertainment is mostly hotel based. However just a few minutes away in lively Cala Millor the nightlife is more lively with colourful bars and S'Illot offers a variety of cocktail bars. The popular evening spots of Crazy Monkeys and the Estrumbols disco in S'Illot are open until the early hours for visitors who wish to experience a few adventures after dark.
The resort offers a variety of activities including a wide range of water sports and boat rides, squash and tennis courts, mini golf, cycling, horse riding facilities, karting and quite a few 18-hole golf courses. Sa Coma is an ideal resort for families as there are activities to suit all ages, from a 54 hole mini golf course set amongst fountains and called Golf Paradise, which is suitable for children to a climbing trip up to the medieval watchtower at Punta de n'Amer, where visitors can stop for lunch at the hilltop cafe. Safari parks, waterfalls, boat trips and excursions to towns, other islands and caves are all available at Sa Coma. This is a lively and action packed holiday resort, with a special focus on family entertainment and a spectacular beach.
