Costa Teguise

Costa Teguise is the smallest of Lanzarote's three resorts but, as the most recently developed, has a lot to offer both families and serious sun-seekers. Situated on the Southeast corner of the island, the resort benefits from three lovely beaches - Playa de las Cucharas typically offering the most inviting waters and golden sands. The town has a welcoming community feel with one of the several pretty squares guaranteed to offer the perfect haven for watching the world go by.

Activities:
The shopping in Costa Teguise is mainly focused around La Cucharas Complex which offers all the souvenir and electrical shops you would expect. For a more authentic shopping experience the twelve-euro trip out to the Sunday market at Teguise is well worth the effort to pick up some locally produced knick-knacks.

If your interests lay a bit nearer the water than the range of water sports on offer around the bay will not disappoint. From jet skiing to snorkelling, there is plenty to keep you, and the kids, occupied when the sand gets too hot for comfort. A little further afield visitors will find a water park and 18-hole golf course perfect for whiling away a hot summer's day.

If it is a full day trip you are after many tourists take in the stunning coastline on a boat trip around the island, you can even take a submarine from Puerto Calero to the West of Teguise if you would like a different perspective of the sea! There is also plenty to keep landlubbers occupied, from camel rides in the desert to a look around the geothermal spas at Timanfaya National Park. All of these tours can be available through your holiday representative, although chatting directly with the local guides may secure you a cheaper deal.

Evening Entertainment
Whilst Costa Teguise may not be the most renowned party resort on the island, there is plenty of choice to suit families and groups alike. There is the expected selection of English pubs to be found around the main town, as well as some good Mexican restaurants at La Cucharas shopping complex. If it is local food that you are after then some of the best eateries can be found around the marketplace, from the prestigious Oscars and La Ordana to the more relaxed El Patiom La Pardela and El Pescasdor.

Once your meal has settled you may want to head over to the marketplace where the majority of bars can be found. You can watch the word go by form the outside tables at the Irish Fiddler and Hooks, or venture into the Legends Bar where nightly entertainment ranges from Abba tributes to hypnotists. If you are after a classier evening then the casino based at the Hotel Oasis is a popular spot, or if it really is a wild night you are after than a ten-mile taxi ride over to Puerto del Carmen should not disappoint.
